Frequently asked questions about the Flyff Universe lifestyle system: grades, mastery, fishing, trading, Master's Chips, [OLD] items, buffs and crafting time.

From which level can I do lifestyle?

From level 61. Accept Livi's quest in Saint City for each profession (e.g. Mining Class or Cooking Class) and complete it – only then can you gather or craft. More under First steps.

Where do I get grade B and A materials?

Grade B is found in Garden of Rhisis (30 %), Darkon 1, 2 (70 %), Darkon 3 and Azria (100 % each) and on Coral Island (70 %). Grade A is found on Coral Island (30 %) and in Kaillun (100 %). You need 3,000 mastery for B and 10,000 for A. Overview: Regions.

Which grade does a caught fish have?

The bait decides: Low-class Bait C, Middle-class Bait B, Upper-class Bait A. You can fish anywhere. More under Fishing.

Does a failed gathering attempt cost durability?

Yes, exactly 1 durability per attempt – whether it succeeds or fails.

Which tool is worth it?

If you care about Penya, the basic one: about 10,000 Penya per C material in Flaris, the Finest about 80,000. Better tools need fewer attempts and so save time. More under Gathering.

Is there a bag for lifestyle items?

Yes. For the quest “What is Lifestyle?” Livi gives you the Lifestyle Mastery Bag with 32 slots for everything you get from lifestyle skills. The weekly ranking also gives bags with 16 slots per profession.

What does the mastery ranking give?

The top 100 of each week get a reward: rank 1–5 a title (“Famous …”), rank 1–10 Master's Chip 2 and rank 1–100 a bag with 16 slots for 7 days. More under Mastery and rankings.

Do I have to unlock recipes?

No. Since the patch all recipes are visible from the start.

Can I trade lifestyle materials?

Yes. Gathered materials and crafted items are no longer soul-linked. Only what you get from the Master's Chip shops is account-linked.

How do I get Master's Chips?

Master's Chip 2 is crafted from 10 failure materials (Stone Dust, Experimental Residue, Burnt Food or Sawdust – depending on the profession) or earned as a reward of the weekly mastery ranking (rank 1–10). Master's Chip 1 is the old currency: you get it by exchanging old [OLD] items at Livi.

What do I do with my old items?

Lifestyle items from before the patch are now called [OLD]. Livi exchanges them for Master's Chip 1. Food, healing potions and items that also appear outside lifestyle are excluded. More under Livi.

Where do I find the Wandering Merchant?

Only in Flarine, Saint City and Darken. His stock refreshes every 6 hours or immediately with the Wandering Merchant Refresh Ticket. More under Livi.

Do I have to stay at the crafting station?

No. Production continues even if you walk away. The timer on the recipe page tells you when it is done.

What happens if I cancel crafting?

You get your materials back.

Why does an A recipe need so much material?

Every grade needs the lower one as an ingredient – an A item contains the whole chain through B and C. The material tree on the recipe page shows everything down to raw materials.

Why is my buff only half as strong?

Percentage-based buff and healing items work at half strength one grade below your level and at a quarter two grades below (recommended: C level 61–100, B 101–160, A 161–190). Enter your level at the top and the planner shows the real values.

What does the Scroll of Production Boost do?

It cuts the crafting time per item by 20 %. The buff lasts 10 minutes.

How many attempts do I need for one material?

On average 1 ÷ (tool success chance × grade share of the region). Every material page calculates this for all tools.
