Gathering: Herbs, Wood and Ore

Gathering in Flyff Universe after the lifestyle patch: which region gives which grade, how much mastery you need and which tool is worth it.

Herbs, wood and ore are found at gathering points all over Madrigal. You need the right tool: Hoe (herbs), Axe (wood) or Pickaxe (ore).

Which grade where?

The region decides the grade. Which material you get from a gathering point is random – some are rarer than others.

RegionGrade shareMastery required
Flaris100% Cnone
Saint Morning100% Cnone
Garden of Rhisis70% C, 30% BB: 3,000
Darkon 1, 230% C, 70% BB: 3,000
Darkon 3100% BB: 3,000
Azria100% BB: 3,000
Coral Island70% B, 30% AB: 3,000, A: 10,000
Kaillun100% AA: 10,000

Grade B needs 3,000 mastery, grade A needs 10,000. Every region has its own page with all materials there: Regions.

Tools

Livi sells every tool in four qualities. Better tools have a higher success chance and more durability. Every attempt costs exactly 1 durability – failed ones too.

QualityPriceSuccessDurability
Basic100,000 Penya20%50
Well-maintained750,000 Penya30%100
New5,000,000 Penya40%300
Finest20,000,000 Penya50%500

Same values for Hoe, Axe and Pickaxe of the same quality (e.g. Finest Hoe, Finest Axe, Finest Pickaxe).

How many attempts do I need?

On average you need 1 ÷ (success chance × grade share) attempts per piece. With a Finest tool (50 %) in Kaillun (100 % A) that is 2 attempts per A material; with the basic tool (20 %) on Coral Island (30 % A) about 17.

Every material page calculates this for all tools, e.g. for herbs, wood and ore.

What does one piece cost?

Since every attempt costs 1 durability, one attempt costs price ÷ durability. Per piece you divide that by the success chance (and in mixed regions by the grade share):

QualityPenya per attemptAvg. attempts (C in Flaris)Penya per piece (C in Flaris)
Basic2,0005.010,000
Well-maintained7,5003.325,000
New16,6672.541,667
Finest40,0002.080,000

The basic tool is about 8 times cheaper per piece than the Finest one (10,000 instead of 80,000 Penya per C material in Flaris), but needs 2.5 times as many attempts. Expensive tools save time, not Penya. Every material page shows the value for the best region in the column “Tool per piece”.

Since the patch, gathered materials are tradable. So you can also buy instead of gathering – or sell what you don't need.
